With Butterfly’s Instant Gulab Jamun Mix, making this traditional Indian sweet at home has never been easier. No need for hours in the kitchen or perfecting the dough — we’ve done the hard part, so you can mix, fry, and enjoy!
· Butterfly Gulab Jamun Mix – 200g
· Water – 100–120ml (for dough)
· Oil or Ghee – for frying and greasing hands
· Sugar – 600g (for syrup)
· Water – 650ml (for syrup)
· Optional – Cardamom, saffron, or rose water for flavour
. Prepare the Dough
In a mixing bowl, combine Butterfly Gulab Jamun Mix with 100–120ml of water. Mix gently to form a soft, smooth dough. Do not over-knead.
Shape the Balls
Apply a small amount of ghee or oil to your palms. Shape small, round balls from the dough. Ensure the surface is smooth and crack-free for perfect texture.
Fry to Perfection
Heat oil or ghee in a deep pan over medium flame. Fry the dough balls until they’re golden brown all over. Rotate gently for even frying.
Make the Sugar Syrup
In another pot, boil 600g of sugar with 650 mL of water. Stir continuously until the sugar dissolves. Add cardamom pods or saffron strands for flavour if desired.
Soak & Serve
Once the gulab jamuns are golden and hot, drop them gently into the warm sugar syrup. Let them soak for at least 30 minutes to absorb all the sweetness.
