Make Your Homemade Apple Jam Last Longer with Butterfly Citric Acid

Nothing beats the satisfaction of making your jams and preserves at home. With just a few ingredients and the right technique, you can enjoy fresh, preservative-free spreads that taste far better than store-bought versions. In this recipe, we’re using Butterfly’s premium Citric Acid — a safe, food-grade ingredient that enhances both the shelf life and tangy flavour of your homemade Apple Jam.

Let’s dive into the recipe!

Homemade Apple Jam Using Citric Acid

Ingredients:

·   4 medium apples

·   150–200 grams of sugar (adjust to taste)

·   ½ glass of water

·   1 teaspoon lemon juice

·   A pinch of Butterfly Citric Acid

Method:

1. Prepare the Apples:
Peel the apples and cut them into small pieces.

2. Soften the Apples:
Add the chopped apples to a pan with ½ glass of water. Let them boil gently until soft.

3. Blend into a Purée:
Once softened, blend the apples into a smooth paste using a blender or food processor.

4. Cook the Mixture:
Pour the purée back into the pan and bring it to a gentle boil.

5. Add Sugar:
Stir in 150–200 grams of sugar and let it dissolve fully.

6. Add Lemon Juice:
Add 1 teaspoon of lemon juice and let the mixture cook for a few more minutes.

7. Add Citric Acid:
Now add a pinch of Butterfly Citric Acid. This not only boosts the jam’s tang but also helps preserve it longer without any artificial preservatives.

8. Cook to Jam Consistency:
Continue stirring and cooking until the mixture thickens into a jam-like consistency.

9. Cool and Store:
Remove from heat, let it cool, and store in a clean, dry glass jar.

This delicious Apple Jam can be enjoyed with bread, roti, or as a sweet topping for desserts.
